Visit to the Rector of Akdeniz University by the Turkish Consul General to Berlin, and a Delegation from the Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences

The Rector of Akdeniz University, Prof. Dr. İsrafil Kurtcephe, was honoured by a visit from the Consul General of the Turkish Republic in Berlin, Ahmet Başar Şen, and Prof. Dr. Bettina Völter, Vice-rector of the Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences in Berlin on November 7th 2014. Consul General Şen expressed his pride at the achievements of Akdeniz University, and said that he would be pleased if it proved possible to increase the quota of international students both going to and coming from Germany. Vice-rector Völter added that the bilateral collaboration agreement with Akdeniz University was of the utmost importance to her university. Since the student exchange programme with Akdeniz University under the terms of the Erasmus Programme had been implemented successfully, they were eager to make further progress which went beyond the existing level of cooperation. Rector Kurtcephe replied that Germany was a very important country for Turkey, and that like all the bilateral collaboration agreements, joint projects and programmes which had been signed with German universities, Akdeniz University had signed the scientific collaboration agreement with Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences in order to make a significant contribution to increasing and diversifying the existing cooperation in the field of education and science. Also present at the meeting were Prof. Dr. Burhan Özkan, Advisor to the Rector and Head of the International Relations Office, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kinsiz, Director of the School of Foreign Languages, and Prof. Dr. Erol Esen, Director of AKVAM.
