A delegation from Bosnia and Herzegovina visited Akdeniz University on February 1st 2016.  The delegation was made up of Prof. Dr. Redžo Čaušević, President of the Green Crescent of Bosnia Herzegovina, Remzija Islamagić, Secretary-General of the Green Crescent of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Prof. Dr. Asim Peco, Dean of the Education Faculty of Mostar Džemal Bijedić University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Naim Salkić, Principal of the Educational Centre in Sarajevo, and students from Mostar Džemal Bijedić University, the University of Sarajevo, and the University of Bihać. Their visit started with a meeting with Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ünal, Acting Rector of Akdeniz University, in his office. The members of the delegation congratulated Prof.

Dr. Mustafa Ünal on his recent appointment, and wished him success. They stated that they had followed closely the success which Akdeniz University had enjoyed in the fields of health, tourism and agriculture in recent years, and that the purpose of their visit was to study how similar programmes could be implemented in Bosnia Herzegovina.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ünal, Acting Rector of Akdeniz University expressed his pleasure at the opportunity to welcome a delegation from Bosnia Herzegovina, and added that they would be happy to continue and extend the bilateral cooperation in the field of education which had existed between Mostar Džemal Bijedić University and Akdeniz University since 2003.

The meeting, which was also attended by Advisor to the Rector for international relations Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kurunç and Mevlana Exchange Programme Institutional Coordinator Nurgül Büyükkalay, dealt with the existing agreements which were established under the terms of the Mevlana Exchange Programme between Akdeniz University and 5 different universities in Bosnia Herzegovina, and went on to cover the continuation and expansion of the Mevlana mobility programmes which had benefited a significant number of students and members of the academic staffs of all the institutions involved. The delegation from Bosnia Herzegovina went on to visit the Akdeniz University Faculties of Education, Tourism and Nursing, and the Antalya Vocational School of Health where they conducted a series of productive negotiations.
